Louis Mayerling documents

Although not listed as "fiction," We Faked the Ghosts of Borley is exactly that. It was written by someone who never lived there, who could not possibly have known ALL the residents from the Bulls through Capt Gregson, and who stole much of his material from other sources. The following information investigates the real story behind the book.

Birth house of George Frank David Carter in England - not Vienna as claimed.

Birth certificate in England - not Vienna. Three marriage certificates, showing evolution of name from carter to Mayerling.

As Lee Lennox, et. al. Notes by Mayerling to O'Neil.

As editor of Vincent O'Neil manuscripts prior to publication.

Origin of some items he used. "Once a thief, always a thief."

Amelia Hill review - Observer, Sunday 31 December 2000

I See you have a link to the Internet version of the Ameia Hill article. There's an extra line at the bottom that's not on the internet: "Louis Mayerling, now 84, has at least revealed his teenage exploits in helping to build the myth of Borley Rectory." There's one interesting point about this article. Paragraph three "year before the fire, when Mayerling was 26" gives Mayerling born 1938-1-26=1911. (More or less) Line above: 2000-84=1916. Even given a year or so difference due to early/late birthdates, it's interesting that the article can't even agree on Maryerling's birth year, which is supposedly 1913 anyway. Jamas Enright

NOTE: At no time did I receive a request from Mayerling seeking permission to reprint any photographs from my book, Who Am I? The Mysterious Search For My Identity ISBN 0- 9644938-1-0 copyright February 6, 1995. If such a request was sent, it was not received, and lacking that confirmation, my material should not have been used.

NOTE: I did not seek to end the relationship with Mayerling in early 1996. Along with some additional - and friendly - editing of the papers I sent him to look over, he wrote to me requesting an end to our friendship. I complied, except one last message from me crossed in the mail before I received his request. I very stern letter rebuking me for not honoring his request followed. To show him there was no hard feelings I sent a Christmas card each year thereafter.
