BORLEY GHOST SOCIETY

Associate Tony Newell

I first came across Borley Rectory in a book I purchased on a market stall in Leicester, England back in the sixties. I was intrigued about it's background, and the photos in particular were haunting and sinister, as if the house was looking back at you.

By sheer coincidence that year 1963, a movie came out called "The Haunting" starring Richard Johnson, Claire Bloom, Russ Tamblyn and Julie Harris. The overtures of the movie seemed to have a correlation and were coincidental to that of the Borley theme, and I was immediately hooked on the background and history of Borley Rectory.

With my own personal experiences this started as a background for my short stories, which up until now have remained untold. When I first went to Borley my compulsion to write about my experiences became paramount, and I felt having read your experiences and other reports from interested parties that your website was the one for me.
